Bloggers and Writers this is for you! Mother’s Day Giveaway

April 23, 2014 By katbiggie 13 Comments

A Mother’s Day Giveaway – but you don’t have to be a mother to enjoy these items!

So yes, the focus of my blog posts lately has been all about the Mother’s day Campaign. If you don’t know about it yet, here it is in a nutshell. My nonprofit, Sunshine After the Storm, a nonprofit formed to support and encourage grieving parents, (based on the book for grieving mothers of the same name,) is raising money to donate the book to grieving mothers for Mother’s Day. Mother’s Day can be so difficult for those who have lost children, and this year, we want to give some hope and encouragement through the book.

As part of that, we got together a bunch of awesome donations for a large giveaway. The giveaway is basically an incentive to donate. We ask for a minimum of a $5 donation for our efforts, and in return, not only do you get to know that you’ve made a difference in someone’s life, but you are entered in to win one of many amazing prizes. Books, jewelry, even yummy granola!

Today, we’re talking about the stuff that’s in it for writers and bloggers!

Mother’s Day Giveaway for Bloggers and Writers

Blue Lobster Book Co.

I am really excited to feature three amazing women and their businesses as part of the giveaway. I met all of these women through blogging, and I had the pleasure of co-authoring the Mother of All Meltdowns with these three, and many other women.

Crystal Ponti and I became friends through blogging. She is the owner of the blog Mommifried, and she is also the brains behind the Mother of All Meltdowns and No Mother is Perfect. (Another amazing giveaway with a spa trip – check out my sidebar for more info!)

But did Crystal stop there? No way. In addition to all of the above, and being the mother to five children, she also launched her own book company to help self-published authors promote and market their books! Yes, she did. She named it Blue Lobster Book Co, since she is a proud resident of Maine.

Mother's Day Giveaway

Blue Lobster Book Co takes the following approach:

  • Help self-published authors create and promote high-quality, marketable books
  • Provide our authors with a true partnership during every aspect of the publishing process
  • Creatively and aggressively promote every book we help get to market
  • Generate significant value for our authors
  • Understand and exploit the rapidly changing publishing and marketing environment

Crystal has generously donated one manuscript review (of the first several chapters) to one lucky winner!

So, if you’ve been writing a book and you’d like a professional to give the first few chapters a read and give you some honest feedback, this is a fantastic prize for you! In the comments, please note if you’re working on a book!

Thank you Crystal for your participation in our big Giveaway!

Next up, Writing and Coaching Services from  Another Jennifer.

Jennifer is my best bloggy buddy. She and I met through SITS and over the past two years, we’ve come to, dare I say, adore each other??

Seriously. We do. We are so similar. We both love philanthropy and giving back (Jennifer has a monthly giving pledge and Mother's Day Giveawayblogs about different philanthropy organizations each Friday.) We both have a son with the same name,  (and it’s not a common name) we both love to write and are in the middle of publishing books, we both love wine, and we’ve been experiencing some very similar hardships in our personal lives. We are both contributing authors to the Mother of All Meltdowns, and we both LOVE and ADORE WaterAid. In fact, Jennifer just got to go to Nicaragua with WaterAidUS. So Cool! All of these things (and our mutual love and adoration of Ilene, Chris, the Dose Girls, and all of our bloggy TRIBE – Tamara, Angela, Michelle, Kerry, oh my gosh so many good writers and bloggers!!) have helped us become real friends.

In addition to all of those things, Jennifer coaches and teaches writing. She offers the following:

Through the another jennifer writing lab, I offer writing services and one-on-one coaching sessions to help you tell your story. I also enjoy teaching and facilitating workshops on blogging, social media and social good. I work with nonprofits, entrepreneurs and small businesses who make a difference in the world in their own creative and unique ways.

Jennifer has donated a writing or coaching session to one lucky winner.

Jen has also graciously agreed to give $50 off a first time coaching session if you mention ALEXA when you check in with her. Because she’s awesome. And she likes bacon.

Find out more about Jennifer’s writing lab and services, to include:

  • writing services
  • one-on-one coaching
  • classes and workshops

And finally… J9 Designs

I am excited that Janine from J9 designs has offered a $40 gift certificate towards her blog services. J9 designs is your one stop shop for everything from small blog maintenance needs (like fixing a buggy widget) to the largest of issues (Blog Design, Setup and/or Transfers).  Janine also designs lovely header designs, customized buttons, and can design custom themes for your blog.

Janine and I are also long time blogging buddies. We met through a group called Bloppy Bloggers, and I was immediately drawn in by her friendliness, her sincerity, and her compassion. She has been an incredibly supportive friend, and she’s always the FIRST person to comment when I publish a post.

Janine is also a mommy blogger at Confessions of a Mommyholic, who became a “mompreneur” when she started J9 Designs. She makes us all feel special, and I am so proud of her for launching J9 a year ago. She has done great things to grow it and, as a past client of hers, I can honestly say that Janine is really responsive and so easy to work with. She offers so many services, it will be easy for the winner to spend this $40.

mother's day giveaway

I cannot thank these ladies enough for donating their services toward our efforts at supporting grieving mothers. For only a $5 donation, you have the opportunity to win so many incredible gifts. And these three are amazing prizes for all bloggers and writers! You don’t even have to be a mother to score awesome gifts in this Mother’s Day Giveaway!
