I had fun looking over the last year. It’s amazing how many details we forget and how much actually happens within one year. My social life was off the charts – mostly with new friends made through preschool, church, and the mommy group. I was challenged to do things like play laser tag and try out Barre3. I’m glad that I take a lot of pictures and post often on social media. The modern day journal, right?
From a blog perspective, I wrote more this year than in the last two years combined. I’m slowly getting to where I want to be. I have some big writing goals for 2015 and am looking forward to seeing where it all takes me.

You ladies rock! Thank you so much for taking the time out of your days to come visit me and comment on my posts. I don’t think people often realize how nice it is to receive comments – validation that the time spent on a blog post was valued by someone else. Thank YOU!
But the most important stats in 2014 are how my children have grown and changed:
Bug
- Went from 1st to 2nd grade
- Turned 7
- Began reading and writing like a champ!
- Grew several inches
- Learned how to ride his bike – no training wheels!
- Learned how to tie shoes (even though most of his shoes are still velcro)
- Passed his swimming test at the YMCA
- Was diagnosed ADHD and is now like a different child in school since we’ve chosen to use medicines
- Is still the sweetest, loveable mama’s boy I could ever ask for.
Jelly Bean
- Moved up to 4 year old pre-school
- Grew a LOT! (the baby is completely gone!)
- Turned 5
- Stopped co-sleeping when she turned 5 (so just a couple of weeks ago, but I miss her.)
- Learned how to swim like a fish – no more floaties!
- Learned how to write her name
- Learned how to write almost all of her letters
- Can now write the first names of everyone in our family
- Came out of her shell and started to perform in dance
- Had her first sleepover with her friend Brie
- Got a big girl bike (with training wheels)
- Colors in the lines
- Developed a certain level of sass!
- Still as loving as ever – gosh this girl is full of love!
Tiny
- Boy was it a year for Tiny!
- Finally passed 20 lbs!
- Turned 3
- Started the 2 year old preschool class
- Started talking!
- Graduated speech therapy!
- Graduated out of all early intervention programs
- Potty trained
- Started dressing herself
- Started sleeping through the night on a regular basis
- Holds pencils and crayons properly and is coloring and drawing
- Gets into EVERYTHING all the time!
Mama still looks at her and wonders what it would be like with two, but I tell ya, if Kathryn were to have been as curious and energetic as Tiny, I’d be certifiable by now! I love this little girl so much and am so blessed to have her. Even if she might be half demon some days.
Compared to the last several years, 2014 was really wonderful. I have some big things in the works for 2015 and I can’t wait to share them!
Happy New Year!
