The best laid plans… {Managing Multiple Blogs}

June 4, 2014 By katbiggie 4 Comments

I keep thinking life will slow down long enough for me to take a break and relax, but that never happens.

Now the kids are out of school and that presents even more challenges for a work at home momma.

I’m looking into hiring a mother’s helper/nanny because already after one week, I can tell this arrangement is not going to work.

They have high expectations of me, and I have unrealistic expectations of them. So, I’m trying to find a win-win situation. So far I am losing. The house is out of control, the children are a mess, but I write on.

I think I am addicted to writing. Or stress.

Maybe both.

But I can’t stop.

Part of that obsession has resulted in me managing multiple blogs. Not one, but FOUR of my own blogs. Yes. Four.

We have No Holding Back, of course.

Then came Democrat or Not – my attempt at a reasonable political discussion. But I haven’t written there in months, so that doesn’t really count.

Next up – Fight TTTS. This one’s important to me. I didn’t want the TTTS story to get lost in everything else going on, so I made a new blog.  And I blog there about anything TTTS related once a week – more often if I can.

Then came Sunshine After the Storm – based on our book, now turned into a very small non-profit to donate copies of the book and to support grieving parents. I also try to post there at least once a week, but that has become challenging. I was so overwhelmed with the big Mother’s Day campaign that Sunshine has been neglected lately. Bad me. I am always looking for guest contributors to share their stories.

Next came Lose the Cape. This is a new project in collaboration with Kerry from Breadwinning Mama and Jennifer from Another Jennifer. I am super stoked about this project and what it will bring to our community! Stay tuned! You can head on over and sign up for our posts/newsletter to stay in the loop. We’ll be launching a really interesting series soon!

So, why am I telling you all of this?

Because I’m so super stoked that I get to take my experience and turn it into what I hope will be a valuable webinar for those considering starting another blog and provide resources for those who already manage one.

I’m gonna host a Sverve webinar about Managing Multiple Blogs

TOPIC: Managing Multiple Blogs and Websites

Since establishing your blog, have you discovered that you have a need for more than one website? Perhaps you’ve built up a specific personal brand on your primary site but want to branch off in other directions. Have you written a book and need a sales page? Maybe you have launched a business because of the success you’ve had blogging, but don’t want to run your business on your blog page.

All of these, and many more, are excellent reasons for managing and writing multiple blogs. If it’s something you want or need to do, you don’t have to be intimidated by idea of managing more than one site.

Join Alexa Bigwarfe of No Holding Back and about four other blogs to learn:

  • Why you might want to consider a second (or more) site
  • Whether or not you should buy multiple URLs/domains
  • Making the jump to a new site
  • Organization tips for managing more than one site
  • Social media strategies; tools for managing multiple accounts
  • Strategies for increasing traffic to the new blog/website

Managing Multiple blogs

Next Wednesday night at 9pm EST (June 11th.) Please, please register and come so I’m not a total flop!

What can I say, but you rock Alexa and this will be me after next week and my girls are out of school for the summer. Definitely a bit worried, because I have my schedule pretty good and set weekly while they are in school, but things are probably going to get turned upside on its head while they are home. That said, I am signed up and I also took your survey. So excited for you 🙂
