The holidays are so full of joy and sadness. But mostly JOY. Because I choose JOY.
And chocolate. I often choose a LOT of chocolate!
It’s hard for me to get in the holiday spirit when it’s 74 degrees outside and looks more like early fall than winter. But we do our best.
What do we do to get in the holiday spirit?
Get out the decorations!
Eat chocolate!
Find that silly Elf, and try to remember to move him daily! (usually a FAIL!)
Write Letters to said Elf
Eat Chocolate!
Adopt a family in need, shop for, and wrap a bunch of presents for them!
Make cookies!
Side story. I am NOT a baker. I want to be a baker so badly. SO badly. I dream of making beautifully decorated cookies, cakes with lovely fondant accents, and cookies for cookie exchanges that put everyone into a state of bliss. But, sadly, even the “so simple, 4 ingredient only, delicious cookies” seem to turn out like this:
They might look OK in the second picture. (Or Not.) I assure you, they were not. Not even close. Wound up going to the cookie exchange with a tray of store made Christmas cookies.
And onward!
Go to Tacky Sweater parties and cookie exchanges (with store bought cookies!) Commiserate with your mom friends with festive drinks like the Grinch!
Eat some more chocolate people!
Go visit beautiful light displays
Wear our nicest clothes to church
Just checking to see if you’re still paying attention! Love this pic!
Send packages to mommies who need a little uplifting during the holidays.
Make yummy recipes and eat A LOT. All month.
AND… Finally. EAT MORE CHOCOLATE!
What do you do to get in the holiday spirit?
**** Shari’s Berries gave me a free gift of the chocolate covered strawberries and cheesecakes to share in my post about our holiday activities… but honestly, we were Shari’s Berries fans long before! I have ordered them and sent them at Christmastime before, and boy did we enjoy sampling more!
