THE HOLIDAYS ARE COMING! It’s Monday, November 24th, three days prior to Thanksgiving, and I have already done my Black Friday shopping.
What??
Yes, thank you Kohl’s. And I think my children are going to be pretty happy this year.
While I don’t have to go face the in-store madness, I still dread the other craziness that comes along with frantic Christmas preparations.
And yet, it still truly is the Most Magical Time of the Year.
So, I have a suggestion for a little bit of non-alcoholic stress relief.
Brought to you by Scary Mommy.
Scary Mommy’s Guide to the Holidays.
Yes. At only $2.99, not only will this give you a mental break, but a portion of the proceeds are going to the Scary Mommy Thanksgiving Project. That’s a win-win in my book! Oh, and there are recipes! Yes! So you get a funny book AND a cookbook all in one.
I did receive a complimentary copy of this ebook in exchange for my review, but my opinion of this hilarious compilation is all my own.
Y’all, this book had me laughing from the first page. It opens with Confessions. The first confession:
“I wear my maternity pants at Thanksgiving…..” (her kid is six years old) – bwahahaha. I wish I had saved some of mine for Thanksgiving!!
I think my favorite essay in the entire book is by Kathryn Leehane. Quite coincidentally, she spells Kathryn the same way as our baby girl’s was spelled. But that has nothing to do with why I love it. The title should explain all. The Dysfunctional Family Drinking Game. I’m ALL in.
My next favorite is definitely Kim Bongiorno’s How to Buy A Christmas Tree with a Preschooler and a Kindergartner. We are living parallel lives!
This is truly a fun and entertaining way to relax and get some good giggles… that only other mom’s can truly appreciate. Ooh, and there is a little guide on Seasonal Cocktails for Moms, to include a mocktail for nursing moms!
Need more information? Watch this hilarious trailer for it!

November 24, 2014 at 2:04 pmRight?? My husband was married before, and for the first year we were married, my brother in law would call me my husband’s ex’s name! ?? Thankfully, he doesn’t do that anymore.
