I have participated in Novel Publicity blog tours before, and I really enjoy the opportunity to do so. As a fiction writer myself (although yet to have fiction published!) I love having the opportunity to read what other new writers have just published, and sharing that. I really like working with Novel Publicity because they always have great prizes for you to enter, and they feature YA novels. I would have never considered myself a YA reader, and then I realized – hey, some of my favorite books and series are YA. Twilight Series, The Hunger Game Series, Divergent… okay people, I am a YA reader!
I love receiving a review copy in exchange for a post, because of two reasons. One, it gives me a reason to make the time to read something fun. And two, it gives me exposure to books I probably would not have otherwise found.
Skylar Wishes is a really unique story. (There is a synopsis below.)
When I first started reading the book (the first two or three pages) I was a little blown away by how fast we jumped into the story. There was a lot going on and a bunch of characters. I was trying to sort out exactly what the heck was going on. But a few pages into it, the details started coming together, and honestly, I was hooked. The idea of being able to jump into someone else’s body and live as you through that other person’s body was really cool. I’d like this power myself! And the romantic developments were well written and explored challenges relationships face.
The plot of course continues to grow deeper, and you soon see the implications of what happens when someone else lives your life (even if for only short periods of time) in your body.
I found Skylar Wishes to be an intriguing and unique story, and it certainly hooked me in. If you like YA novels, and you like the idea of strong women with magical powers, and you like romance, this is a book you’ll want to check out!

About the book: Grace is the only one who remembers the truth—that comets are the source of extraordinary destinies. Since their last night together, all memory of their comets and their old powers has abandoned Skylar and Alina. All that is left is Alina’s enduring envy for everything Skylar touches, and Alina’s sudden ability to wake up inside of Skylar’s body, if only for a few minutes.
After Alina finally forces her will and switches bodies with Skylar, harsh realities surface. The holes in Skylar’s relationship with Darren are exposed, and Skylar herself becomes seduced by the idea of living two lives at once, and loving two men at once.
Grace might be able to save them, but everything Skylar and Alina know about love has to change. When their comets return, these three women must choose their fate once more.
Get Skylar Wishes through Amazon or Barnes & Noble.

March 7, 2014 at 7:34 amSounds like a wonderful read and totally tried entering, but for some reason, I kept getting Pin It buttons and took me to voting on Mommy Hot Spot page. I think the Pin It Button you have on images are coming up on all images. I had this happen to me awhile back and had to set it only for certain images and not on the whole page if that makes sense. But thank you again for sharing and really need to add this book to my ever growing list 🙂
