Time for NANOWRIMO!

November 1, 2014 By katbiggie 1 Comment

NaNoWriMo

Writers – it’s November 1st! That means NaNoWriMo has begun!

Nano what?

NaNoWriMo – National Novel Writing Month!

It’s your chance to commit to sitting down and spewing out 50,000 words. Don’t worry about editing or perfection (that comes later!) – just WRITE.

I wrote my first novel (which is still in the editing process!) through NaNoWriMo. That year I “won!” – that means I got to 50,000 words. The book has since been completely re-written, and I’m still editing, but it’s out of my head and onto paper!

And I’m giving it another shot this year, with my new fiction book “The Scars on their Hearts.” The concept of this book is somewhat Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood meets Fried Green Tomatoes meets Steel Magnolias. Based a little on truth, a little on fiction, a LOT on the women in my lives I love the most. I can’t wait to see how it comes together.

It’s not too late to join the fun! And then, once it’s written, come back to me and I’ll help you get it published! 🙂

I’m going to add some widgets to my sidebar so that you can follow my progress – and maybe even encourage me if I’m slowing down! I have a story that I want to get out, and I’m really hoping I can do that this month.

Who wants to nanowrimo with me?
