Wireless Wednesday

August 14, 2013 By katbiggie 7 Comments

I’m taking the Tech Time Out Pledge (see box under post) one step further, and I’m implementing “Wireless Wednesday.”

For the time being, I will not post on Wednesdays (except in certain circumstances.) I won’t be on social media, and I won’t be trolling other blogs. For my sanity and my family!

Couch to 5K

Hope you’ll check out some of my other blog posts while you’re here!

xoxo

I like the idea of having a day a week of no electronics. A few years ago, our school district’s high schools (where I work) did something called “the Social Experiment”. One week with no electronic means of communication. No texts, no facebook, no chat, no anything electronic for communicating unless it was required for your job or school work. It was definitely an interesting experience. Check out the documentary at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XzjiI8uR_t0 It is hard to believe just how entrenched electronic communication has become in our society.

haha, the photo is so happy-making!! I love it.

Good for you! I meant to do the same today, and oops, I didn’t. I love our social media followings so much that it’s like I’m afraid if I take even one or two days off, everyone will drop me! I know I’m nuts. And you’re doing it today and I’m NOT dropping you. I do plan to leave my phone at home today while heading to a friend’s slip-n-slide with the kids. Although last time I tried that, my husband hurt himself and it was a legitimate emergency..involving an ER. Oops again.

I stopped blogging on weekends, which has helped me unwind a bit. I do Wordless Wednesday to give myself a break a bit in the middle of the week. Enjoy your Wednesdays!
