No one ever prepared me for what life would be like to have twins 10 weeks early. One, a 1lb 10 oz micro preemie. The other, much larger, but much sicker. And then Kathryn left us.
I can tell you that living in the NICU for 84 days was hell on earth.
Thankfully that is far behind us and this little preemie is the light of our lives.
She is amazing.
I love this baby girl!
She has come so far from this tiny little 1lb preemie!
Wish her twin was with us.
What a strong little girl.
Coming to you from The Showin’ some Love Blog Hop at Modern Hippie Mamma’s site. I will follow you via facebook and twitter – and Google plus if you have it!
Looking forward to staying in touch.

I’m getting chills. I spent 46 days in the NICU with a preemie who was a *giant* in comparison – at 3 lbs 6 oz – but I always say this about my son – I would swear that he loves life more than anyone else I know – and I can’t help but wonder if it’s because somewhere he knows how hard he had to fight for his. I wonder. These are beautiful photos – and so glad you were able to take one of your babies home.
Thank you Ilene! The NICU is a battle zone, isn’t it?? I agree with you – the ones that make it out seem to have an incredible zest for life! I am also glad I got to bring one home! Can’t wait to meet you soon!!!
So sweet. 🙂
Thank you Julie!
Wonderful pictures of Tiny and loved seeing how she has grown into the strong little girl she is today in your Wordless Wednesday collage!! 🙂
She is a doll! What sweet pictures 🙂
Thank you! I certainly think she’s adorable! 🙂
Such an amazing little lady! I really like the pic of her in the high chair.
Isn’t she cute??
Amazing how those spidery veins and tubes and wires and vulnerability blossomed into the laughing girl in the high chair.
Isn’t it??
She’s adorable. And a strong little girl, I’m sure!
She is very strong!!
Well, as I scrolled through all the unopened emails (waaay too many) I saw your WW post notification… and here I am, with tears in my eyes… peering at your world… sad…joyful…inspired…sad again…hopeful…faithful. Sigh…
Thank you Chris. You are very sweet. We are happy more than sad these days! 🙂
