What on earth is NaNoWriMo?

November 5, 2013 by katbiggie 7 Comments

I am so excited… it is that time of year again! NOVEMBER!

NaNoWriMo

Not only is November one of my favorite months because of fall, football, and Thanksgiving, but it’s also National Novel Writing Month, or NaNoWriMo!

I participated in a whirlwind session of it last year and I WON (which means I successfully wrote more than 50,000 words in the month!) However, I am STILL editing and reviewing the book, which has changed DRASTICALLY since I posted some excerpts last year. But it is coming along and I (fingers crossed!) will publish my first work of fiction (The Boys I Left in Paris) by next summer!

So, I am at it again! My Friday Fiction story, 41st and 7th, starring one of my favorite leading ladies, Addison, was so wildly popular amongst my 7 loyal readers, that I decided to take what I’ve written and make it into a book. I have removed those stories from the blog and kablamo, I’m already 10,000 words into it!

Now, I just have to figure out what the heck Addison actually did, if she and Carter will have a relationship, what is up with David?? And of course, whether or not they will go to war against “the Agency.”

I’m excited about the challenge and even more excited that my friends, fellow bloggers, and fellow contributors to Sunshine After the Storm, Kathy and Jessica are joining me!

Are you a writer? Do you have a story you think you could turn into a book? It’s not too late to join us. We’re only five days in. You can still do it!

Now I’m really wondering about Addison. Get that written! 🙂

I usually do NaBloPoMo in November, but I’m going with YeRoWriteO with Cyndi at Pictimilitude right now. Much more my speed! Good luck, Alexa!
