Ways to Help a Grieving Mother

January 28, 2015 by katbiggie 4 Comments

Just as it’s hard to know what to say and do for someone who has lost a baby (what do you say to someone who has lost a baby?) it’s also often very difficult to ask for help.

So here’s a little checklist that can be used by both parties – those who are trying to help, and for those who need help but don’t know how to ask for it.

Not all of these will work for all people – use your best judgement based on the personality of the mother.

However, I assure you that doing SOMETHING is always better than doing NOTHING.

I also posted this over at Sunshine After the Storm – our website dedicated to encouraging grieving parents and educating everyone trying to help them.

Please consider pinning this to your “hope I never need it” board.

Wonderful tips and I have to say you really have such a light in this world. Cannot thank you enough for always being so open and indeed helpful on this topic, which I know is very much near and dear to your own heart.

I’ve pinned it to my Grief & Loss board.
I’m glad we talk about this so more and more people feel comfortable being with the bereaved.
