Happy 2nd Birthday to my #TTTS Survivor

December 10, 2013 By katbiggie 15 Comments

My TTTS Survivor is TWO!

Today is sweet Tiny’s 2nd Birthday. We celebrated on Saturday night with the family. It physically pained me to NOT put Kathryn’s name on the cake as well. But the thing is, I don’t want to take away from the joy and happiness of the day for my living twin daughter.

Look how tiny she was???

Charis NICU

That little diaper was no bigger than a small sanitary pad, yet it engulfed her!

She fought hard to be here. Our road was long before we finally came home from the NICU (84 days!) But she did it. She is our amazing TTTS Survivor!

I am relieved that Kathryn died on the 12th, not the 10th. This way, I can honor her and celebrate her on her own special day.

Today, I celebrate my Tiny. I cannot believe my baby is two. I officially no longer have any babies. Toddlers and kids. Thankfully Tiny still looks like a baby, so she is stretching out this time frame for me.

I love you so much I can hardly stand it!

Thanks for deciding to stick with us sweet baby girl. Our lives are so much better with you in it!

Don’t forget to enter your chance to enter one of two copies of my book, Sunshine After the Storm: A Survival Guide for the Grieving Mother!

In honor of “Kathryn Day” on 12/12, I am giving away two copies of the book Sunshine After the Storm. Perhaps you or someone you know can use it. a Rafflecopter giveaway

Happy, Happy 2nd Birthday to Tiny!! She is just such a beautiful little girl and seriously so glad you did fight so hard to be here. I know this time of year is truly bittersweet for you, but with Tiny you do definitely have a lot to be thankful for and then some!! 🙂

Yes, I do. I often feel guilty about feeling sad about Kathryn, because I am so blessed to have three healthy children. My little munch is so sweet and I am so thankful for her!

Amazing how joy and sadness and thankfulness and wistfulness and missing can coexist in a mother’s heart without canceling out one another in any way. Happy birthday to your sweet Tiny and to Kathryn as well. Love you, my friend!

I heart you Tamara. You make me feel so special, that even with the 80 other people commenting on your blog, you make the time to come read and comment on mine! You can call him baby for ever as far as I’m concerned! 🙂
