I haven’t written a whole bunch about my auto immune diseases and my personal struggles with trying to get healthy, beyond a few posts here and there, but it’s something I have been researching a LOT lately, and a topic I plan to write about much more regularly.
You see, the last few months I have become very ill. Not in a way that you might notice if we are just hanging out, but my body is in crisis mode. I have gained 35 pounds, I have inflammation in most of my joints and a great deal of pain in my hands and feet. I have eczema patches all over that itch and bother me. My skin has gone bonkers and I’ll break out in these tiny red hives that itch like crazy. I’m suffering from extreme fatigue – not just the “I’m tired” but the “I’m so tired, I have to literally tell my body directions to even get up and walk across the room.” I’ve been suffering from more frequent headaches. My depression has returned. My brain is foggy, I am stuffed up and have allergy symptoms, my hair is getting thinner and thinner, and I am always freezing. I could go on, but I think you’ve got the gist.
I started to do more research about the relationship between food and auto immune diseases. Because I remembered the two times in my life that I have never felt better. When Jelly Bean was diagnosed with MSPI and I had to eliminate all soy and dairy from my diet – which left me to live paleo even thought I didn’t realize it at the time. And when I did the Whole30 challenge – during which time I eliminated everything from my diet except vegetables, fruits, healthy fats, and lean meats.
As soon as I started consuming junk, my symptoms came back.
I have researched and found that the answers all lie in the GUT.
So starting Monday, I’ll be attending the Healthy Gut Summit – online, free, and pre-recorded so you can watch/listen as you have time during the day.

February 9, 2015 at 1:57 pmI can’t say that I suffer from the same conditions, but I have heard the power of a healthy diet. I’ve been going more paleo lately. It’s just a better way to eat, if you ask me. I am hoping you see good results, Alexa! xoxo
